North Lanzarote
We recommend visiting the North of the island if you want to experience something different
things to do
Caletón Blanco
A large group of natural pools in the North of Lanzarote. Approximately 3 km south of the town of Órzola. They are one of the lesser known attractions in Lanzarote. Perfect for kids and the family, if you fancy an adventure further up the island, this is for you.
The car park is on the right when driving from the South of the Island. Follow directions from Google Maps.
Mirador del Río
Mirador del Río is a viewpoint on an approximately 475-metre-high escarpment called Batería del Río in the north of the Canarian island of Lanzarote.
On clear days there are perfect views of La isla de Graciosa and Alegranza.
This is the furthest point on the island from Playa Blanca, approximately a 1hr drive.
Go Karting
The number 1 Karting circuit in Lanzarote, with a variety of Go-Karts available including options for kids and disabled passengers.
Great for those who want a bit of adventure - it is worth contacting them as they sometimes offer transport from other areas.

Perfect if you want a day out - we recommend visiting the town of Costa Teguise too!

Go for a drive
One of the best ways to explore the island is by car.
Here is a list of beautiful places tourists seldom visit:
El Golfo
Tinajo
Arrieta
Famara
San Bartolomé
Although remember that service can be few and far between, similarly with public toilets. Read our guide on driving in Lanzarote.
La Graciosa
Graciosa is the small island to the North of Lanzarote. Famed for its beauty and tranquility - it is accessible via boat from Órzola in the North of the island.
The main settlement on the island is called Caleta del Sebo - 'Caleta' meaning inlet.
We recommend hiring bikes in Caleta del Sebo and cycling the short distance over the island to the beautiful beach of Playa de Las Conchas. Although do not enter the water as the current has been known to wash people away.
This is an all day trip requiring your own transport - contact us for more information regarding tickets.
places to eat
These restaurants serve mainly Spanish food. It is worth checking the opening hours and if you need to make a reservation before travelling.
Asador Grill Tinguatón
Very good quality food. Great portions. Very busy on the weekends and advisable to make a table reservation. Amazing selection of wines and craft local beers. Very attentive staff. Real Canarian decoration and feeling. Slightly hidden from the main road but this makes it even more interesting.
Restaurante Casa Torano
Very friendly and attentive service. Delicious food at reasonable prices. It has a beautiful terrace with a sea view.
A service charge usually applies on your bill.
Restaurante Mirador de Salinas
Very tasty food with nice and friendly staff. Although you will be paying slightly more compared to some other places, you will be getting good quality food with generous portion sizes. Sitting outside is a good option if it is not too windy.
Restaurant Balcon de Femés
Simple good food cooked well. Really tasty, satisfying, with decent portion sizes. Especially great if you want to eat fish or sea food.
There are excellent views over Southern Lanzarote.
Not so good for vegetarians though.
Salmarina
Really nice restaurant near the sea. The food is good especially the grilled fish, and the service is lovely.
Highly recommended, especially for lunch time.
La Bodega de Santiago
A beautiful restaurant in the tranquil town of Yaiza. Service is excellent and efficient. Food is first class. It is advisable to book a few days in advance. It's not hard to see why it is rated 4.3/5!
Alma Tapas
Great food and great service. Fantastic ambience and service. Most people recommend the chocolate volcano for dessert!
La Cabaña de Mácher
Cosy and beautiful ambience with gourmet food made almost, right in front of you. The service is impeccable. Reservations well in advance recommended.
This restaurant is worth the detour.
